Habitat Signs Memorandum of Understanding with Haxhi Zeka University to Advance Green Academic Practices

On September 11, 2025, in Peja, a Memorandums of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Rector of Haxhi Zeka University, Prof. Dr. Armand Krasniqi, and Habitat’s Executive Director, Jeta Berisha.
This partnership represents an important step toward advancing environmental sustainability policies in higher education in Kosovo and strengthening collaboration between public institutions and the private sector.
Through this cooperation:

  • Haxhi Zeka University will use Karbon360, Kosovo’s most innovative carbon calculator, free of charge, aligned with European GHG standards and localized emission factors;
  • Habitat will provide training for university staff on the effective use of the technology;
  • Education, research, and institutional green practices will be strengthened.

By integrating climate technology into academic operations, the partnership supports evidence-based environmental management and promotes transparency in measuring institutional climate impact. The initiative also contributes to building technical knowledge among academic staff and students, strengthening the role of universities as drivers of sustainable development.
This collaboration reflects a shared commitment to academic integrity, transparency, and innovation, positioning Haxhi Zeka University as an inspiring example for other institutions seeking to align education with climate responsibility and sustainable transformation.
